We have a unique leadership opportunity for an experienced Account Director who is ready to make a bold move away from a more traditional consulting/analyst or branding/advertising agency role where you are pigeonholed on one account, not learning or growing enough or don’t have a seat at the table. We’re looking for someone who is confident in their abilities and ready to up their game in terms of responsibility, contribution, and diversity of clients and challenges. Spyglass has a stellar reputation and we are relentless in our pursuit of not just good creative ideas, but the right creative idea driven by a solid strategy. Account Director

As Account Director you will play a central role managing several clients and partnering with and eventually leading the internal team to ensure Spyglass delivers on strategy and with the best creative ideas in branding, marketing, and digital. We will want and expect you to contribute to the solutions we bring our clients, not just take orders and manage the flow of information back and forth. This is a perfect opportunity for you if you want to be challenged and further develop your brand strategy and creative acumen as well as guide / lead a team.

  • You are genuinely curious about each client’s business and willing to learn about and stay engaged in key happenings in their industry.
  • You are passionate about Spyglass and care about what we do, why we do it, how we do it – and want to help us be better than we are today.
  • You want to be part of our leadership team and work directly with the company founders, learn all aspects of the business and potentially become a right hand to the CEO.
  • You can confidently guide — and eventually lead — our internal team to develop and deliver the best strategic ideas, creative concepts, and marketing campaigns.
  • You can communicate clearly, concisely, and convincingly, both in writing and speaking (or want to further develop this skill).
  • You can organize, facilitate, and lead a strategic or creative brainstorm session and draw out and organize the best thinking and ideas.
  • You can anticipate needs (client, agency, team), you have solid project management chops, are highly collaborative, and comfortable wearing multiple hats.
  • You have enough business and financial acumen to contribute to preparing proposals, price engagements, and manage project budgets and spending.
  • You are extremely customer-centric, relationship-oriented ,and can ask, listen, and interpret what a client or team member wants and needs.
  • You bring a high sense of urgency and ability to prioritize on a daily basis and make decisions quickly that will yield the most benefit for the client and Spyglass.
  • You have the ability to zoom out and see the big picture and zoom in to ensure important details are being covered.
  • You bring a sense of fun and warmth, and are outgoing and approachable.
  • You are highly self-starting and can thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
  • You’re looking for a creative, highly collaborative culture and want to be an integral part of a kind and caring A-game team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 8+ years of related experience (brand, PR, creative agency)
  • 2+ years of experience managing an integrated client team or teams
  • Digital marketing acumen
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Working knowledge of Harvest and Basecamp a plus

  • Flexible work environment — some office time (and it’s a VERY cool office near Loring Park) and in-person client meetings as needed and some WFH. We are flex and still making this up as we go during this new era of work!
