Position Summary:

Gardner Builders is looking to welcome a skilled design and copy professional to our team. This dual role combines graphic design expertise with strong copywriting skills to create compelling visual and written content for a variety of marketing materials to support our marketing, branding, and communications goals. You’ll also develop a variety of designs, including layout design and writing for project proposals, print and digital media, presentations, social media, and refining web copy. Our ideal candidate offers creative design, writing skills, excellent communication skills, and a desire to find creative alternatives to common requests. You’ll join a nimble, collaborative, and supportive marketing team!

Responsibilities:

  • Develop original on-brand designs for a variety of marketing materials, including print media, displays, brochures, handouts, website graphics, social media graphics, and assets for internal communications.
  • Present ideas and drafts, respond to feedback and amend designs.
  • Design professional and unique job site branding.
  • Collaborate with marketing and project team members to create unique and timely client proposals for all company entities. Design layout, assemble requested information, write and edit information, and present completed package.
  • Write clear and engaging copy for marketing material, including website content, social media posts, email newsletters, and multimedia content. Ensure that copy aligns with our company tone, voice, and brand expectations.
  • Review and proofread all written materials to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency with brand guidelines and voice. Ensure that design and copy are free of errors before distribution. Tailor copy to different channels and audiences.
  • Assist with content calendar management, ensuring timely delivery of content and alignment with business goals and marketing plans.
  • Collaborate closely with multiple teams to understand campaign objectives, key messaging, and design requirements. Collaborate on creative brainstorming, feedback sessions, and project milestones.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and ensure delivery of high-quality work. Keep project partners informed of project progress.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Strong graphic design skills with demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite; particularly InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator
  • Creative flair and a keen eye for design and detail, with the ability to balance creativity with strategic messaging.
  • Experience designing for multiple platforms, including websites, social media, and print materials.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with the ability to write for different audiences and formats.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and content management systems (Hubspot).
  • Solid understanding of brand communication.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong commitment to follow through and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to create and edit multimedia content is a plus. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, fine arts, or related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5 years minimum of experience in graphic design, content creation, marketing, or communications (Experience in an in-house marketing role is a plus.)
  • Prior experience in the construction, architecture, and engineering industry is ideal, but not required.
  • Must submit an online or PDF portfolio of 3 writing samples and 3 layout/design samples with application.

Salary, Benefits, and Company Perks:

  • $75,000-$90,000 annual salary, paid weekly. Eligible for discretionary bonus.
