Here’s How It Works

Job Search and Entrepreneurial Resources — helpful tips for one and all in the creative industry

Find a plethora of ideas here to enhance your pursuit of new work, whether that’s in the form of an employer, client, or professional partner. This list is never complete nor totally up-to-date, but it will give you a good place to start. Take your time chipping away at it — try not to feel overwhelmed! If you do, let’s connect.

15-Minute Phone Call — for anyone considering a career move (Monday afternoons 4-5 pm and Friday mornings 8-9 am)

Ask your top-of-mind questions about career pathfinding. Gain information about resources — placement agencies, job listing sites, professional associations, and networking connections — and determine whether you need/want further consultation.

Free for all. Available most weeks; please schedule by email, then plan to call 612.910.1391.

1-Hour In-Person Individual Session — for job seekers requiring a deeper dive and focused advice (day/time TBD)

Session includes resources shared in phone call plus recommended steps to enhance social profiles, resume, cover letter, and portfolio; pinpoint expertise; target prospective employers/clients; and provide networking connections.

If unemployed, a donation to Art Buddies is requested. If employed, Heather’s hourly rate will apply. Please schedule by email.

  • “I enjoyed our conversation and was dazzled by how quickly you match ideas with actual contacts. Contacts are invaluable. Job hunting is emotionally hard work. Meeting with you, Heather, helps strategically but it also is a big help for morale.”
